Presenter: Deputy District Attorney Charles Gillingham
PRESENTATION DESCRIPTION
The course is for Investigators and Prosecutors and will cover California
law relating to traveler cases. The presentation and documentation of
evidence, search warrants, and common defenses. The purpose of the lecture
will be to insure that attendees have an understanding of the relevant
California case and statutory law along with the defenses raised. The course
will also raise some of the common pitfalls in testimony and preparing the
case for trial.
PRESENTER BIO
Charles
Gillingham has been a Deputy District Attorney with the Santa Clara County
District Attorney's Office since 1994. Presently assigned to the sexual
assault unit, he has handled the prosecution of three-strike, robberies,
child molest, homicide and death penalty cases.
He is a regular instructor for the California District Attorney's
Association training prosecutors in evidence and trial advocacy. He is an
Instructor at the Santa Clara University School of Law teaching evidence.
Mr. Gillingham has taught many courses for local law enforcement and
instructs at the Basic Police Academy. He is member of the San Jose ICAC
Task Force.
