OAKLAND — An Antioch man is in federal custody after a child pornography investigation led authorities to his home, and allegedly yielded a shocking confession: that he molested a girl when she was a toddler.
Henry O. Cordon was charged last week with receipt of child pornography, but much more serious charges could be coming soon. According to the criminal complaint against him, Cordon admitted to molesting a girl when she was 2 or 3 years old, in 2011, when he was living in Florida.
Authorities wrote in the complaint Cordon told police he knew the girl’s mother, and that he had taken a picture of the girl “performing oral sex on him.” When police searched his electronic devices, they reportedly found dozens of child porn images, including some depicting a girl whose age was estimated at 6 to 8 years old.
The investigation into Cordon started with a tip from Yahoo! that said Cordon had received images of child porn on his email account. Authorities later determined he had emailed himself a child pornography picture, from one account to another.
Other images found on his devices including pictures of naked children and a girl estimated at around age 7 being sodomized, authorities said.
On May 16, authorities served a search warrant on Cordon’s Antioch home and arrested him. After interviewing him, they looped Florida police into the investigation.
Cordon remains in federal custody and a federal judge will decide at a hearing May 28 whether to keep him detained pending trial, in Oakland, according to court records.
The investigation was led by the Contra Costa Sheriff and DA’s offices before being passed off to federal prosecutors.
